3 Minute Thesis

The Thesis in 3 Minutes Contest (Three Minutes Thesis 3MT®) originated at the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, where it has been held since 2008. Due to its success, this format has spread worldwide and is replicated in various universities.

Its objective is to foster research communication and dissemination skills, challenging doctoral students to communicate the most significant aspects of their research work to a non-specialized audience in just 3 minutes. This involves an oral presentation where doctoral candidates must explain and convey their research to a non-specialist audience using language appropriate for this informative purpose.
