  • In the case of a PhD degree with an “International” mention, the composition of the examination board must be in accordance with the provisions of article 68 of the Regulations on PhD Studies (Agreement 6.1/CG 23-7-19).
  • For the purposes of the composition of the thesis examination board, retired professors and those on research leave shall be understood to belong to the university and department to which they were most recently linked in active service. Professors on leave of absence or special services may participate in thesis examination boards and, for the purposes of the composition of the examination board, they shall be considered as belonging to the organisation or body to which they are linked at that time.
  • The presidency of the examination board will correspond to the Spanish public university professor with the highest academic category and seniority in active service and, failing that, to the most senior PhD graduate. The secretary of the examination board shall be the professor of the University of Seville with the lowest category and seniority in active service and, failing that, the professor of the Spanish public university with the lowest category and seniority, unless, being one or the other the only one in their respective capacity, they should preside the examination board in accordance with the criteria established in this section. In their absence, the most recent PhD graduate shall act as secretary.

Having completed the technical analysis of the requirements for the composition of the examination board, the EIDUS Executive Committee shall decide on its approval and its designation will be communicated to the academic committee of the programme, the department or university research institute to which the PhD student is assigned, the tutor, the thesis supervisor and the PhD student.
